Job Location: Northridge Community Clinic - Northridge, CA 91325

Position Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $23.84 - $28.61 Hourly

This is a Temporary Position expected to last less than 6 months.

Exploratory Preference

Experience in Pediatrics and OB/GYN highly preferred.

Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred.

JOB SUMMARY

This position will assist medical providers in providing medical care to clinic patients under the direct supervision of the doctor or nurse.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Draw blood, give injections, administer skin tests, and obtain laboratory specimens.
  • Prepare patients for doctor examinations.
  • Set up necessary instruments.
  • Take medical history and check vital signs.
  • Schedule appointments.
  • Update and maintain patient records.
  • Monitor and maintain medical supply inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining a necessary degree of confidentiality.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent OR a combination of education and related work experience.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent OR a combination of education and related work experience preferred.
  • 0 to 1 year of related experience.
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE / LANGUAGE
  • Medical Assistant Certificate.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • BLS/CPR certified.
  • Must provide proof of required vaccinations by federal, state, and local funding sources.
  • Employees driving personal vehicles for El Proyecto business must provide El Proyecto proof of a valid driving license and auto liability insurance.
  • El Proyecto will reimburse employees for their mileage at the current rate set by the Internal Revenue Service. To receive mileage reimbursement, the employee must log their mileage and submit the mileage expense report to their appropriate administrator.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Walking, talking, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Hand and wrist dexterity to utilize a computer.
