Job summary

Northwest Health in Indiana is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care by performing clinical and administrative tasks under supervision. You’ll assist with procedures, maintain exam rooms, facilitate patient intake, and help ensure efficient clinic operations while delivering excellent service to patients and staff.

Requirements include completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and 0–1 years of experience or externship.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited school preferred.
• 0-1 years of experience or externship required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with non-invasive procedures, e.g., taking vital signs and preparing patients for exams.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms before patient visits and clinical procedures.
• Perform patient intake duties, including reporting test results, phone triage, and documenting information as directed by licensed personnel or providers.
• Review and maintain daily logs and documentation.
• Support administrative duties, including pre-registering patients, scheduling appointments, coordinating referrals, verifying insurance eligibility, and managing clinic communications.
• Maintain an organized workload while providing prompt, courteous, and efficient service to providers, patients, and visitors.
• Monitor and requisition supplies and equipment to ensure inventory levels and functionality.
• Educate patients on medications, diets, and health-related topics, addressing questions to ensure understanding.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
