Job summary

Community Health Systems in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support clinical and administrative tasks under physician supervision. You will assist with procedures, manage exam rooms, intake, and ensure efficient clinic operations while delivering excellent patient service.

Ideal candidates have 0-1 year of experience or completed externship; CMA or NCMA certification and BCLS.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of experience in a medical practice setting or completion of externship program.
• Proficiency in medical record systems and basic computer applications (MS Office, Google Suite).
• Understanding of medical terminology and infection control practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide excellent patient service.
• Demonstrated time management and organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to perform care according to age-specific competencies.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with clinical procedures such as vital signs, wound care, injections, phlebotomy, vaccines, urine tests, EKGs, and splints.
• Prepares and cleans exam rooms for patient visits and procedures.
• Performs patient intake duties, reporting test results and documenting medical information.
• Maintains daily logs and documentation.
• Supports administrative duties: pre-registering patients, scheduling, referrals, insurance verification, and clinic communications.
• Maintains an organized workload while delivering courteous service.
• Monitors and requisitions clinic supplies and equipment.
• Educates patients on medications, diets, and health topics.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular attendance and complies with policies.
