Job summary

LMH Health in Lawrence, KS is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and care teams in orthopedics. You will perform administrative and clinical tasks, take histories, record vitals, prepare exam rooms, collect specimens, and assist with procedures while ensuring patient confidentiality and smooth clinic flow.

Preferred candidates include those with a Kansas CNA, MA program enrollment, EMT, or related healthcare training, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Current or previous Kansas Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or enrollment in a Medical Assistant program.
• Active Kansas EMT or nursing student who completed first semester of nursing skills.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program; must complete department skills checklist within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Updates and files patient medical records and insurance forms as needed.
• Takes medical histories and records vital signs; documents information electronically.
• Explains procedures and prepares the patient for examination with privacy.
• Collects laboratory specimens; prepares rooms and instruments for procedures.
• Assists with wound care, cast care, and routine patient teaching.
