Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia invites applications for a Medical Assistant within UVA Community Health. This full-time role supports clinical and administrative tasks under supervision, contributing to patient care across UVA Health facilities.

Mon-Fri schedule, weekends and major holidays off. Eligible applicants will hold a High School Diploma or GED, CMA/CCMA/RMA credentials or complete an approved MA program within 6 months, and maintain BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year clinic experience preferred.
• Current CMA/CCMA/RMA credentials or completion of an MA program; must obtain CMA/CCMA/ARMA/NAHP within 6 months.
• AHA BLS certification required; successful validation testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support under supervision of a licensed practitioner.
• Assist with administrative tasks and documentation.
• Routinely collect health data and assist with patient intake.
