Medical Assistant - Medical Receptionist - Nephrology

Fairfax, Virginia

Pay From $18 per hour

MUST:

• Experienced Medical Assistant - Medical Receptionist
• 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
• Experience working on EMR; knowledge of Epic highly preferred
• Experience handling and conducting a high volume of calls
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Medical Assistant diploma or certification/registration; willingness to obtain if necessary
• Experience verifying insurance and handling prior authorizations (highly preferred)
• Spanish and English speaking skills (highly preferred)

DUTIES:

• Triage patients
• Prepare medical records
• Room patients and provide clinical assistance
• Greet patients and visitors, answer inquiries via phone or in person
• Schedule appointments to optimize patient satisfaction and provider time
• Notify providers of patient arrivals and service delays
• Address patient questions and maintain the reception area for comfort
• File and retrieve patient records to ensure availability of treatment information
• Update and maintain patient accounts with personal and financial information
• Perform data entry and processing
• Schedule appointments
• Maintain medical records
