Job summary

Trinity Health MI is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time, day-shift role in a clinic setting. You will work under licensed clinicians, facilitating the patient visit experience and supporting care delivery.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, vitals, EKG, phlebotomy, injections, immunizations, point-of-care testing, pharmacology, and administrative duties. Strong emphasis on teamwork and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; successful completion of accredited MA program and externship/internship or EMT/Paramedic program.
• Preferred: Certification as Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, CMAC).
• Minimum 2+ years clinical experience if no MA program completed; ability to provide clinical support in a community clinic.

Responsibilities

• Room set up and patient preparation.
• Take vitals (manual and electronic).
• Perform EKGs and draw blood; administer injections and immunizations.
• Conduct point-of-care tests and basic pharmacology tasks.
• Handle administrative duties and in-office procedures/treatments as needed.

What you will do

• Room set up and patient preparation
• Taking vitals (Manual & Electronic)
• Perform EKG
• Drawing blood and giving injections and immunizations.
• Performing office tests (Point of Care Testing)
• Pharmacology
• Administrative duties
• May perform or assisting with in-office procedures / treatments

What you will need

• Education- Minimum: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved: MA program and MA externship, MA internship, EMT, or Paramedic program.

Credentials/Licensure (Preferred): Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:

• American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
• American Medical Technologists (RMA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
• National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
• National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
• American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

• Related Experience- Minimum: In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills. Preferred: New graduate or 1 or more years of previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
