Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our daytime clinic team in Michigan. You will facilitate patient visits, prepare exam rooms, take vitals, perform EKGs, draw blood and provide injections in a collaborative clinical setting.

The role includes clinical support and admin duties, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care under supervision of licensed professionals. Day shift, full-time benefits apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; successful completion of an MA program or approved clinical externship/internship.
• Preferred CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NHCMA/CMAC certifications.
• Minimum 2+ years clinical support in a community clinic if MA program not completed.

Responsibilities

• Set up room and prepare patients for visits.
• Take vitals (manual and electronic).
• Perform EKGs and venipuncture for blood draws.
• Administer injections and immunizations.
• Carry out Point of Care tests and in-office procedures as needed.
• Handle pharmacology and clinical documentation.
• Support administrative tasks in the clinic.

What you will do

• Room set up and patient preparation
• Taking vitals (Manual & Electronic)
• Perform EKG
• Drawing blood and giving injections and immunizations.
• Performing office tests (Point of Care Testing)
• Pharmacology
• Administrative duties
• May perform or assisting with in-office procedures / treatments

What you will need

• Education- Minimum: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved: MA program and MA externship, MA internship, EMT, or Paramedic program.
• Credentials/Licensure (Preferred): Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:
• American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
• American Medical Technologists (RMA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
• National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
• National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
• American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
• Related Experience- Minimum: In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills. Preferred: New graduate or 1 or more years of previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
