Job summary

Edward Elmhurst Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Family Medicine team in Round Lake Beach, IL. This full-time role supports clinical and front desk duties, including vitals, documentation, and patient escorting.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR certification, and 1 year in a medical office. Alumni of accredited medical assisting programs are preferred but not required. Training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) preferred, but not required.
• One year of work experience required; prior experience in a medical office preferred. On-the-job training provided for those without training.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and escort them to exam room.
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit.
• Provide front office support as needed.
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight.
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required.
