Learn About a Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant:

As a Medical Assistant, you will serve as the first clinical contact for incoming patients, representing OHI according to our Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures.

Your responsibilities include transporting, rooming, and preparing patients for visits with physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses. You will perform and document vital signs, medication reconciliation, allergy reviews, inquire about medical and family history, and document all in the electronic medical record. You will assist with provider orders by performing venipuncture, EKGs, ambulatory cardiac monitoring, and patient education as directed.

You will also support additional clinic and administrative duties as delegated by the nurse, provider, or supervisor.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High school Diploma or GED
• BLS, PALS, or ACLS certification may be required for certain units
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program or more than 3 years of experience as an MA

Preferred Job Requirements:

• 1-3 years of previous experience
• Vocational / Technical Education
• Current CMA, RMA, or ABR certification
