Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED required; credentialed MA program completed.
• Associates degree in healthcare or science preferred.
• 1–2 years MA experience in healthcare, preferably behavioral health or medical.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred; valid AZ license expected.

Responsibilities

• Care and coordination of members assigned to care team.
• Complete daily clinic tasks and ensure safe clinic flow.
• Monitor and track appointments; follow up on no-shows.
• Process referrals and schedule follow-up and specialty appointments.
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
• Ensure patient data accuracy and HIPAA compliance.

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for the care and coordination of members assigned to their care team. In addition, MAs are responsible for the completion of clinic tasks to ensure the accomplishment of daily patient care and safe clinic flow. The position will complete daily assignments, monitor and track appointments, follow up on no-shows, processes referrals and schedule follow-up and specialty appointments. This position will be responsible for providing excellent internal and external customer service. The Medical Assistant is responsible for making sure that all patient/client data is accurate and kept secure and will also ensure HIPAA compliance.

Skills/Requirements

• Highschool diploma or GED required. Successful completion of a credentialed Medical Assistant program required. Associates Degree in the field of healthcare or science preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in the Health Care field where his or her prior experience would provide adequate exposure to both behavioral health and medical situations required.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification (current and in good standing within the State of Arizona) is preferred of this position.
• Valid AZ Driver's License in good standing
