Job summary

Pima Medical Institute is hiring a Medical Assistant Lead Instructor at our San Antonio campus. This full-time, non-exempt position blends instruction with leadership to guide the program delivery and ensure strong student outcomes.

You will oversee curriculum implementation, mentor faculty, conduct externship visits, and support retention and certification outcomes while teaching didactic and lab modules and ensuring safety standards.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited institution recognized by USDE or CHEA.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program recognized by USDE or CHEA (or equivalent).
• Active CMA or RMA certification as required by institution/state standards.
• Prior classroom or clinical instruction experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Faculty & Administrative Operations: oversee curriculum implementation and accreditation documentation.
• Externship Oversight: conduct on-site externship qualifications and supervise placements.
• Faculty Mentorship & Onboarding: orient new faculty, mentor team, ensure proper lab ratios.
• Advisory Board & Program Growth: communicate outcomes and community needs to leadership.
• Lab Operations: manage inventory, equipment, and pass rates.
• Instructional Delivery & Student Mentorship: design/teach didactic and labs; mentor students.
• Lesson Execution: create engaging lessons for didactic and practical modules.
• Classroom & Lab Leadership: lead lectures and supervise procedures.
• Grading & Advising: return grades within 72 hours and provide academic counseling.
• Student Retention: monitor progress and coordinate guest speakers/field trips.
