Charles River Community Health in Waltham is seeking a Medical Assistant - Laboratory to perform a variety of clinical and administrative tasks. The role emphasizes completing laboratory requests and phlebotomy, with floor duties as needed to keep the Medical Department running smoothly.

Qualifications include Medical Assistant Certificate, Phlebotomy Technician Certificate, HS diploma, and BLS/CPR. The clinic operates on-site at two locations, with opportunities to contribute to patient care

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certificate required.
• Phlebotomy Technician Certificate required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS or CPR Certificate required.
• Must maintain current Medical Assistant certification to administer vaccines.
• Must be able to commute between Waltham and Brighton locations.

Responsibilities

• Obtain urine and blood samples and run point-of-care tests.
• Prepare instruments for sterilization and assist with room cleaning.
• Oversee phlebotomy training and internal certification.
• Coordinate unit flow and monitor waiting area.
• Record patient history and vital signs.
• Assist with examinations and minor procedures when needed.
• Provide vaccine administration and related training.
• Provide interpreting services when available.
• Support training of new staff and interns.
