Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
• Licenses: BLS Certification; CMA certification preferred.
• Experience: 1-2 years direct MA experience or medical field work.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities; ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and onboarding training.
• Show patients to examination rooms, prepare equipment, interview patients, measure vital signs, and record in the medical record.
• Explain treatments, medications, diets, and physician instructions; organize educational materials for patient education.
• Perform general office duties: answer phones, take dictation, complete insurance forms; liaise with other departments and advocate for patients.
• Collect blood, tissue, or other specimens; log and prepare for testing; perform phlebotomy if competent.
• Maintain inventory of immunizations and check expiration dates.
• Provide immunizations as applicable with certification or experience.
• Improve departmental quality initiatives (two patient identifiers, hand hygiene).
