Job summary

Gundersen Health System in Wisconsin is seeking a Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our caring team. You will greet patients warmly, take vitals, and update charting as you work alongside nurses and providers.

The 0.9 FTE position offers day shifts from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional Saturday newborn clinic coverage and no holiday hours required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program, Practical Nursing or Vocational Nurse program or eligible for NCLEX-PN.
• Or high school diploma/equivalency with Medical Assistant Certification.
• BLS for healthcare workers is required.
• Medical Assistant Certification within 15 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provide LOVE + MEDICINE to patients by greeting them warmly and setting the tone for appointments.
• Update patient information in charting systems.
• Take vitals.
• Assist with procedures alongside nurses and providers.
• Collaborate with providers, medical staff, and managers to support patient health journeys.

What you will do:

• Provide LOVE + MEDICINE to our patients by greeting them with a warm and welcoming smile and setting the tone for their appointments
• Update patient information in charting systems
• Take vitals
• Get hands on experience working on procedures with nurses and providers
• Partner with a team of providers, medical professionals, and managers who are here to support your success and that of our patients in their health journeys.

What you need:

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program, Practical Nursing program or Vocational Nurse program or have completed education to be eligible for NCLEX-PN
• Or
• High School Diploma or equivalency and attained a Medical Assistant Certification
• BLS for healthcare workers
• Medical Assistant Certification within 15 months of hire date.
