Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is seeking Medical Assistants in Columbus to support direct patient care across outpatient settings.

You will assist physicians and nursing staff, room patients, take vital signs, and prepare rooms for examinations in a fast-paced environment. Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus a Medical Assistant program diploma or related experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with one of the following: Medical Assistant Program diploma, 1 year of medical assisting experience, Military Medic training, EMT-P training, or equivalent combo.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration).
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments; assist with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine laboratory tests.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Medical Assistant Program diploma

1 year medical assisting experience

Military Medic training

EMT-P training

Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
