Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
• BLS Certification from various issuers preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (National Certification) preferred.
• Direct MA experience or medical field work 1–2 years required.
• Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Responsibilities

• Assist junior MAs and onboarding training participation.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare equipment; interview patients for medical information.
• Record vital signs, weight, height, and other patient data in the medical record.
• Explain treatments, medications, and physician instructions; provide educational materials.
• Perform general office duties; liaise with departments and advocate for patients.
• Collect blood or other specimens and prepare them for testing; phlebotomy if competent.
• Maintain immunization inventory and check expiration dates.
• Provide immunizations as applicable with required certification or supervision.
