Job summary

Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Wellesley, MA is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support our Internal Medicine office onsite Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm. Basic Life Support and Certified Medical Assistant credentials are preferred, with 1–2 years of direct MA experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, document patient information, and record in the medical record.
• Interview patients, prepare equipment, and collect specimens as needed.
• Explain treatments and instructions; provide patient education materials.
• Assist with insurance forms and office duties; liaison with other departments.
• Perform phlebotomy if competent and maintain immunization inventories.
• Provide immunizations as applicable with certification or supervision.
• Support departmental quality initiatives (two patient identifiers and hand hygiene).
