Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in internal medicine in Peabody, MA. This full-time role involves patient prep, vital signs, and routine procedures with EMR documentation in Epic.

You will ensure smooth patient flow, assist with waived point-of-care tests, and coordinate with the care team. Pay ranges from $16 to $29 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Formación

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate from an accredited institution or governmental unit or a Medical Assistant Certification.
• Associate degree in medical assisting or graduate of medical assistant certification program.
• Experience typically acquired through 2+ years of experience in a clinical setting as determined by the department (a bachelor's or associate degree may be substituted for experience).
• Experience working with EPIC EMR software.

Responsabilidades

• Provides efficient flow of patients to optimize patient appointment availability.
• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms according to policy and procedures.
• Prepare patient for examination; measures vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, weight, height).
• Assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and/or additional tests specific to the department; advise patients of preparation or pre-visit testing.
• Ensure EMR is updated with medical information, including recent testing and consultations; confirm demographics, medications, allergies and chief complaints.
• Keep patients informed of visit status and delays.
• Reconcile medications and set up pending refills; discontinue inactive prescriptions.
• Assist in resolving patients' concerns and complaints as appropriate.
• Order and perform point of care testing (strep, urine, hCG, glucose).
