Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for the Wake Forest Health Network: Winston Salem Highland Oaks – Internal Medicine. This full-time role (40 hours/week) is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with a pay range of $21.85–$32.80 per hour.

Eligible for benefits, the position requires graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program and BLS certification. Prior MA certification from AAMA/NHA/NCCT/AMT or equivalent is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• One year experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required by AHA.
• Current Medical Assistant certification from accepted boards (AAMA/NHA/NCCT/AMT, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patients, obtain vitals, document medical history and chief concerns.
• Perform basic and some advanced clinical procedures as supervised.
• Assist physician/APP with examinations and procedures.
• Administer routine medications per orders or standing protocols.
• Coordinate care, referrals, and patient communication with the health team.
