Job summary

SWCHC, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team and support clinicians and nurses in a patient-centered medical home.

You will handle patient intake, document chief complaints, review medication lists, record vital signs, perform preventive screenings, and assist with lab tests and procedures. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED plus a completed Medical Assistant program or MA certification, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and relevant procedures.
• Excellent written, electronic and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process patients according to agency policies and Joint Commission standards.
• Assist staff to ensure smooth operation of the department.
• Perform duties including documenting chief complaints, reviewing medications, recording vital signs, and conducting preventive screenings.
• Prepare patients for clinician appointments based on visit type and clinician preferences.
• Document information and assist with lab tests or procedures as ordered.
• Answer patient calls and document information accurately under supervision.
• Support administrative duties including forms, scheduling, and digitizing records in EPIC EHR.
• Perform CLIA waived testing according to policies.
• Attend meetings and assist in stocking exam rooms.
• Maintain confidentiality and act as interpreter when needed.
