Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Medical Assistant Intern to support clinical operations and ensure smooth day-to-day activities in the physician practice. You will communicate professionally with patients and staff, assist providers, and help maintain accurate EMR records.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, preparing patients for visits, assisting with procedures and in-office tests, and coordinating scheduling and referrals as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Senior in an accredited medical assistant vocational school (able to read, write and speak English).
• Maintain current AHA BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with providers to assist in delivering world class care to patients.
• Provides a high level of customer service to all patients of the practice.
• Rooms patient and prepares the patient for the provider visit.
• Takes vital signs and records accurately in EMR.
• Assists provider with in-office medical procedures and tests including EKGs.

Education
