Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vitals, recording in EMR, assisting providers, preparing specimens, and coordinating scheduling and follow-up while maintaining confidentiality and delivering excellent

Qualifications

• Strong customer service excellence expected.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Experience with EMR strongly preferred (Athena preferred but not required).
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Education from approved medical assistant program or equivalent.
• One to three years as a medical assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with providers to assist in delivering world class care to patients.
• Provides a high level of customer service to all new and existing patients of the practice.
• Rooms patient and prepares the patient for the provider visit.
• Takes vital signs as necessary and records accurately into EMR.
• Records patient history, chief complaint, and medication list into EMR.
• Obtains required consents and completes required forms for visit types.
• Performs in office testing and EKGs as needed and assists with procedures.
• Labels specimens and chaperones Providers as required.
• Administers vaccines and medications per provider orders.
• Monitors workflows (TCM, CCM, RPM) if active.
• Stocks rooms and monitors supply expiration dates.
• Responds to calls, triages, and routes calls as needed.
• Schedules patient visits and testing; coordinates pre-visit review.
• Performs outreach for patient groups and specialty testing.
• Inform manager of supply needs and assist with ordering.
• Obtain prior authorizations and insurance referrals as needed.
• Works assigned clinical buckets timely.
• Work independently with little supervision.
