Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Medical Assistant I to support daily clinical operations within the HMG physician practice. You will screen and prepare patients, collect vitals, document information in the EMR, and assist providers during visits.

A focus on compassionate patient service and adherence to privacy policies is required. Responsibilities include rooming patients, entering data accurately, and helping with in-office tests, vaccines, and routine procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service excellence expected.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Experience with EMR strongly preferred (Athena preferred).
• Education from approved medical assistant program or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers in delivering care and support patient flow.
• Provide high level of customer service to patients.
• Room patients and prepare for visits; take vitals and document in EMR.
• Perform in-office testing and EKGs as needed and assist with procedures.
• Administer vaccines and medications as ordered; ensure confidentiality.
