Job summary

ConvenientMD in Bangor, ME, is hiring a Medical Assistant for our Advanced Primary Care team. The MA will engage with patients, triage, take vital signs, and assist with basic procedures while supporting care continuity in a team-based clinic.

The role requires a high school diploma, Medical Assisting certification or 1–2 years MA experience, and a BLS credential. Proficiency with MS Office and NextGen is preferred; schedule is full-time, onsite in Bangor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Medical Assisting certification with at least 1 year of experience or 2 years as a Medical Assistant, preferably in primary care.
• BLS certification per American Heart Association or Red Cross (not CPR/ACLS or online-only).
• Compassionate, authentic, patient-focused care delivery.
• Proactive, confident written and verbal communicator.
• Trustworthy with patient confidentiality under HIPAA.
• Effective cross-functional collaboration with the clinical team.
• Strong team player skills and tech proficiency with MS Office and NextGen.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients, explain conditions, treatments, and medications.
• Explain medications and potential adverse reactions; provide lifestyle guidance.
• Support clinical operations: triage, take vital signs, histories, phlebotomy, minor procedures.
• Document patient information in EHRs in compliance with privacy rules.
• Collaborate with clinicians and assist with discharge planning as needed.
