Job summary

Penobscot Community Health Care in Bangor, ME is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to support our primary care team. This part-time role (36 hours/week) offers the chance to contribute to patient-centered care in a supportive, collaborative environment.

You will room patients, prepare exam spaces, assist with vaccines and blood draws, manage chart reviews and medication refills, and help with pre-visit planning under provider direction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and evidence of Medical Assistant training.
• MA certification or willingness to obtain certification within 60 days of hire.
• Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with ability to obtain within 2 weeks if not current at hire.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or CMA/RMA/CCMA certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient care and pre-visit planning.
• Room patients, prepare exam spaces, administer vaccines and draw blood.
• Manage medications, refills, and lab processing under provider direction.
