Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in patient care. You will welcome patients, assist exams, document histories, vital signs, and help with procedures, testing, and specimen collection in a busy clinic.

The role emphasizes patient education, care coordination, and communication of test results, with credentialing expectations including MA programs or EMT/Paramedic paths.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Completion of an MA program with externship/internship is preferred.
• EMT, Paramedic, or Certified Athletic Trainer credentials are acceptable pathways for eligibility.
• Maintains current MA recertification CEUs if credentialed.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
