Position Summary:

Scheduled Hours: 40

May lead the work of Medical Assistants in a clinical setting, acting as a primary resource in a large multi-physician practice. Functions include preparing exam rooms, maintaining charts, obtaining reports, directing patient flow, and ensuring smooth clinical operations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Interact with patients, obtain vital signs, conduct EKGs, perform phlebotomy, verify medications.
  • Prepare exam rooms, schedule tests, assist with examinations and procedures.
  • Assist with medication renewals and administration under physician orders.
  • Manage communication, direct patient flow, and complete documentation accurately.
  • Monitor supplies, sterilize instruments, and maintain clinical environment.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance, participate in training, and support quality improvement activities.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment with exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
  • Requires protective devices and direct patient care setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant experience.

Certifications:

  • Various certifications accepted, including BLS, CCMA, CMA, RMA, LPN, RN from approved bodies.

Work Experience:

  • At least 3 years relevant experience, including supervisory experience preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Medical Assistant credentials from approved certifying bodies, with proof required within six months of hire.
