Position Title: Certified Medical Assistant I, II, or III
Department: HB Dermatology Clinic
Job Description:
This position may be filled as a Certified Medical Assistant I, II, or III, depending on experience, expertise, and qualifications.
Minimum Requirements:
Certified Medical Assistant I:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred.
- Experience: 0-3 years of experience in Patient Care as a Medical Assistant or similar role preferred.
- License/Certification: Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire. Additionally, one of the following certifications is required:
- Medical Assistant - American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- Registered Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Personnel
- Registered Medical Assistant - American Allied Health
- Certified Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant - National Health Career Association
- National Certified Medical Assistant - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant - National Association for Health Professionals
Certified Medical Assistant II:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years in Patient Care preferred.
- License/Certification: Same as above, plus the certifications listed.
Certified Medical Assistant III:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years in Patient Care required.
- License/Certification: Same as above, plus the certifications listed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Professional interaction with healthcare practitioners and patients.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to observe and gather information from relevant sources.
- Teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and task completion.
- Ability to maintain composure in difficult situations.
- Sensitivity to others' needs.
