Job summary

AltaMed Health Services seeks a Medical Assistant (MA) III to welcome patients, deliver direct care, and support back-office operations in our clinics. The MA III will serve as an EHR super-user, mentor peers, and provide feedback to clinic management to improve workflows.

Qualifications include MA certificate with high school diploma, 3+ years back-office MA experience, preferred phlebotomy and nationally recognized MA certs; bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese depending on location;

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certificate along with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a back office Medical Assistant.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on location, strongly preferred.
• A valid BLS certification or higher required per AHA/Red Cross guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and attend to patients; provide direct patient care and back-office support.
• Serve as EHR super-user and guide clinic staff.
• Mentor and train MA team; support clinic management.
• If at Patient Service Center, handle telephone duties.
• If with Registry teams, manage diagnostic test results.
