AltaMed Health Services Corp. in Los Angeles is seeking a Medical Assistant III-Lead to support direct patient care and clinical operations in a busy outpatient setting.

The MA III-Lead may perform injections (IM/SC/ID), skin tests, oral medications, venipunctures and other routine procedures, while providing technical and clerical support to the care team and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED, along with a Medical Assistant diploma, required.
• A California phlebotomist license is preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience, preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with a frail or elderly population is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the AHA or ARC guidelines.

Responsibilities

• The Medical Assistant III-Lead assists in direct patient care by performing routine procedures and clerical tasks.
• May administer intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal injections and may perform skin tests.
• May perform venipunctures and collect blood specimens.

Job Overview

The Medical Assistant III-Lead within the regulatory scope of practice, assists in the provision of direct patient care by performing routine patient care procedures, and technical and clerical supportive services in the clinical setting. The MA III may administer intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal injections and may perform skin tests, administer oral medication, venipunctures, and skin punctures for blood specimens.

Minimum Requirements

• High School graduate or GED, along with a Medical Assistant diploma, required.
• A California phlebotomist license is preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience, preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with a frail or elderly population is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Compensation

$27.25 - $32.02 hourly
