Job summary

Millennium Physician Group, LLC is seeking a Medical Assistant III (CMA/RMA) for our Primary Care location in Sarasota, FL. You will support physicians and teams across outpatient settings, manage patient flow, document in Athena, and assist with exams, injections, EKGs, and procedures.

The role requires 3+ years of MA experience, CMA/RMA/CCMA credentials, BLS, and bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. This on-site position offers comprehensive benefits and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Active CMA, RMA, or CCMA credential required.
• 3+ years as Certified/Registered MA.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient intakes including vitals.
• Assist with exams, minor procedures, wound care.
• Perform EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection.
• Document in Athena EHR accurately.
• Schedule, referrals, and prior authorizations.
• Maintain infection control and safety protocols.

About the Role We’re seeking an experienced Medical Assistant III (CMA/RMA) to provide high‑quality, compassionate clinical and administrative support in a busy primary care setting. This role supports physicians and interdisciplinary teams across outpatient and hospital‑based environments, ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and exceptional patient care. As an MA III, you’ll work independently on more complex assignments, support visit preparation and follow‑up, resolve workflow barriers, and contribute to quality improvement efforts. You’ll apply advanced working knowledge of clinical workflows, patient care support, and documentation practices to guide peers and maintain consistent care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient intakes, including vital signs, medical histories, medications, and allergies
• Assist providers with exams, minor procedures, wound care, and diagnostic testing
• Perform EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection
• Prepare, label, and process lab samples and point‑of‑care tests
• Maintain infection control, safety protocols, and equipment calibration
• Support triage, care coordination, and transitions across clinical settings
• Provide patient education on medications, treatment plans, chronic conditions, and preventive care
• Document clinical data and provider instructions accurately in the EHR (Athena)
• Schedule appointments, manage referrals, authorizations, and track test results
• Verify insurance and assist with prior authorizations, billing, and coding
• Maintain exam rooms, equipment instruments, and supplies
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and safety drills
• Facilitate communication among patients, providers, and interdisciplinary teams
• Uphold HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and compliance standards
• Demonstrate excellent guest service to patients and internal team members
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience as a Certified/Registered MA
• Active CMA, RMA, or CCMA credential (must maintain certification and continuing education)
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
• BLS certification required
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
• Skilled in obtaining and documenting vital signs, including manual vitals
• Proficient in EKGs, injections, specimen handling, and clinical room setup
• Knowledge of infection control, universal precautions, and sterile technique
• Strong medical terminology, documentation accuracy, and scheduling skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow established workflows
• Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment
• Commitment to patient‑centered care, professionalism, and continuous learning

Compensation Range: $22.00 to $33.00

The anticipated base salary range represents the Company's good‑faith estimate of the compensation it reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
