Responsibilities

• Assists junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and onboarding training.
• Show patients to examination rooms, prepare equipment, interview patients, obtain vital signs, and record information in the medical record.
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions; organize educational materials.
• Perform general office duties, answer phones, take dictation, and complete insurance forms; liaise with other departments and advocate for patients.
• Collect blood, tissue, or other specimens; log and prepare for testing; perform phlebotomy if competent.
• Maintain inventory of immunizations and check expiration dates.
• Provide immunizations as applicable with certification or 3 years of experience and supervision of a provider.
• Support departmental quality initiatives (two patient identifiers, hand hygiene).
