Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
• BLS certification or equivalent; CMA certification preferred.
• Direct MA experience or medical field work 1–2 years required.

Responsibilities

• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare equipment for healthcare providers.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information, measure vital signs, weight, and height, and record data in the medical record.
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions; organize educational materials for patient education.
• Perform general office duties (answering phones, dictation, insurance forms) and liaise with departments to advocate for patients.
• Collect blood, tissue, or other specimens; log and prepare them for testing; phlebotomy if competent.
• Maintain inventory of immunizations and check expiration dates; provide immunizations as applicable.
• Support quality initiatives (two patient identifiers, hand hygiene) and ensure privacy compliance.
