Job summary

CommonSpirit Health’s St. Anthony Summit Hospital seeks a Medical Assistant II to support clinicians and patients with clinical tasks, documentation, and education. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure quality, safe care and efficient patient flow on site.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, adherence to care plans, and the MA Clinical Ladder pathway for growth. A housing stipend is available for full-time on-site work in Summit County.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association required.
• National MA certification (AAMA/AMT/ARMA/NAHP/NHA/NCCT) required.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant Core Skills and any specialty competencies defined in scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs across physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual domains.
• Perform clinical tasks including vital signs and routine procedures.
• Maintain accurate chart documentation and contribute to patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families, assess health literacy, and address learning needs.
• Promote patient engagement using motivational interviewing and self-management support.
• Precept and mentor new staff or MA students as needed.
