Job summary

Indiana University Health System in Bloomington, IN is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under supervision. You will room and prepare patients, document vital signs, and assist clinicians with procedures.

Under the supervision of a physician and MA team, you will perform basic lab work, manage front office tasks, and help coordinate referrals and scheduling to keep patient flow smooth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Certification in CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC is desirable.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA and ADA.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Ability to perform basic math and accurate data entry.

Responsibilities

• Rooming and preparing patients for appointments.
• Obtaining and documenting vital signs.
• Completing accurate patient assessments and clinical documentation.
• Performing cognitive exams as indicated.
• Collecting laboratory specimens and completing lab draws.
• Managing patient phone calls and scheduling.
• Processing and coordinating prior authorizations.
• Support providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient care.
