Job summary

Franciscan Alliance, Inc. is seeking Medical Assistant Floats to support multiple ambulatory clinics.

You will assist providers with patient care, schedule appointments, document in the electronic medical record, and perform duties such as taking vitals, vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, and medication reconciliation under RN/Provider supervision. This role requires travel to regional offices up to 100% and a flexible day schedule with opportunities for professional development and enhanced

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assisting program required; or 5 years MA experience in lieu of program.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
• RMA, CMA, NRCMA, NCMA, CCMA certifications listed as qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Support providers and staff in coordinating patient care.
• Schedule appointments and enter orders in EMR.
• Take vitals and document comprehensive medical history.
• Administer vaccines and injections under supervision.
• Phlebotomy and point-of-care testing as needed.
• Process prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills.

At Franciscan, our Medical Assistant Floats are criticalfor supporting a variety of clinical duties for multiple ambulatory clinics. This role assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care, scheduling appointments, executing physician orders for lab testing, entering information in electronic medical record system, and functions as a liaison between patients, coworkers, and providers.

• Gather requirements from internal and external customers and provide informationvia phone, electronic messaging and in person.
• Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and process samplemedications, prescriptions, and refills as directed.
  

Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma/GED
• Required Program Medical Assisting
• Required Program In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Allied Health
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
