Franciscan Alliance, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant at the Dyer, Indiana ambulatory clinics. The role supports providers and staff in coordinating patient care, scheduling, lab testing, and EMR documentation, acting as a liaison between patients and the care team.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Program in Medical Assisting required or 5 years MA experience in lieu of program.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Within 6 months, MA must have one of the listed MA certifications.

At Franciscan, our Medical Assistants are critical for supporting a variety of clinical duties for multiple ambulatory clinics. This role assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care, scheduling appointments, executing physician orders for lab testing, entering information in electronic medical record system, and functions as a liaison between patients, coworkers, and providers.

• This position is a day shift, Monday through Friday and no weekends. Shift can start as early as 7:00am and end as late as 6:00pm. Consists of 40 hours a week

• Provide a more personal approach to direct patient care in a variety of outpatient settings, which may include: rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining a comprehensive medical history, document care of patient via electronic medical record, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing and medication reconciliation under the supervision of RN/Provider
• Gather requirements from internal and external customers and provide information via phone, electronic messaging and in person
• Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and process sample medications, prescriptions, and refills as directed

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required High School Diploma/GED
• Required Program Medical Assisting
• In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience-Required
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association- within 90 days of hire
• For an MA, you must have one of the following certifications within 6 months of hire: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Allied Health or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Registry of Medical Assistants or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Performance Specialists (NPS)
