Job summary

Texas Children’s Hospital is seeking a Medical Assistant II for our Renal Ambulatory Clinic to support fast-paced patient care and excellent customer service. You will help coordinate patient flow and provider schedules to optimize care delivery and patient satisfaction.

The role emphasizes accurate patient registration, charting, and collaboration with licensed staff to ensure smooth inpatient and outpatient processes.

Qualifications

• One of the following certifications is required.
• Certifications listed include CCMA, CMA-AAM, EMT and Paramedic variants, and national certifications.
• Experience requirement includes at least 2 years in related area.

Responsibilities

• Responds to customer questions with prompt information and/or services related to appointment status, wait time, or unanticipated problems
• Performs patient registration procedures per clinic process
• Utilizes the patient management system to mark the arrival of patients and opens accounts
• Changes status of all non-arrived patients daily to reflect canceled, no-show, or rescheduled status
• Prioritizes patients to be roomed based on appointment and arrival times
• Assists licensed staff with non-financial aspects of inpatient admission as needed
• Assists with patient escorts and paperwork as needed
• Collects and documents patient/family data including biophysical and psychosocial information
• Reports abnormal data to RN or provider
• Ensures requisitions have clinical, demographic, billing, and payor information
• Monitors patient flow and assigns staff to avoid bottlenecks and minimize wait time

CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

CMA-AAM- Certified Medical Assistant

EMT Certified

EMT-A Certified Advanced EMT

EMT-B Certified EMT-Basic

EMT-I Certified EMT-Intermediate

EMT-P Certified Paramedic

LIC PAR- License Paramedic

NCMA- National Medical Assistant Certification

NRCMA - Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant
