Responsibilities

• Proactively assists patients throughout the visit and accompanies them to exam/procedure rooms.
• Performs clerical activities related to patient care (scheduling, imaging, lab calls, authorizations, records).
• Collects and records patient data (vital signs, history, allergies, medications).
• May assist with physical examination preparations.
• Performs EKGs, wound care, dressing changes as directed.
• Prepares and handles specimens for lab analyses.
• Administers medications and immunizations under supervision.
• May authorize prescription refills and communicate with pharmacies.
• Executes first aid or CPR in emergencies.
• Maintains infection control and cleans exam rooms between patients.
• Prepares orders, stocks supplies, and educates patients as directed.
