Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic. You will work under the supervision of providers and clinic leadership to support patient care and operations.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, collecting vitals, performing phlebotomy, assisting with procedures, and ensuring supplies and patient education are available for visits.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time experience as Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs rooming and intake, records vitals and visit data.
• Collects patient and family medical data and histories.
• Reviews current medications and allergies.
• Assists provider during exams and procedures.
• Performs phlebotomy and collects specimens.
• Administers medications per provider instruction.
• Performs tests such as EKG or eye exams under supervision.
• Ensures exam rooms have supplies and educational materials.
• Provides post-visit instructions and education to patients.
• Maintains clean and stocked exam rooms.
• Assists with patient registration, scheduling tests, and referrals.
• Answers clinic calls and triages in-basket items.
