Bayhealth Medical Center is hiring for a Medical Assistant to support outpatient physician office practice. Responsibilities include obtaining patient history, vital signs, assisting in simple procedures, and front-office duties to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Mentoring staff in the MA role is also noted.

Full-time position with Day/Evening shifts; salary range is hourly and benefits are part of eligible positions.

Formación

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Credential: Basic Life Support.
• Experience: Eighteen (18) months of experience as a Medical Assistant, CNA, or Patient Care Tech in a clinical setting, or 1-year experience if completed a medical assistant program, certified nursing assistant program, or Bayhealth Internship MA Training Program.

Responsabilidades

• Obtains patient history and measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height; records information in Epic and documents actions.
• Sets up exam/procedure rooms and instruments; cleans and sterilizes instruments and clinical areas per procedures.
• Assists physician/APC with simple patient procedures; acts as chaperone for female patients as needed.
• Maintains patient records with proper documentation and confidentiality; manages Joint Commission and CLIA requirements for in-office logs.
• Greets patients and families, initiates forms for medical and financial records, and collects signatures as needed.
• Performs patient registration and insurance authorizations following current procedures.
• Schedules new and follow-up appointments and referrals as needed.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Performs other duties within scope.
