Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our Burbank Health Center full-time. This intermediate role supports both front and back office functions in delivering reproductive health care, including testing, screening, and patient education with non-judgmental, empathetic communication.

Ideal candidates hold a Medical Assistant certificate, a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and 1–2 years of clinical experience, with availability for

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Diploma/Certificate required.
• BLS Certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• At least 1–2 years of experience in a clinical setting.
• Availability to work flexible hours including Saturdays.
• Venipuncture and Injection training to be completed within 1 year.
• Reproductive health care experience desirable.
• Knowledge of surgical services preferred.
• Keep current on anatomy, contraception, STIs, pregnancy, education techniques, and related protocols.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person or by phone.
• Schedule, reschedule, and manage patient appointments.
• Register patients and verify insurance eligibility.
• Obtain vital signs and medical history.
• Assist nurses and clinicians in clinical duties.
• Support patient portal enrollment and documentation.
• Maintain infection control, safety, and emergency guidelines.
• Perform phlebotomy, injections, and related procedures.
