Qualifications

• Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills within the Medical Assistant scope of practice after demonstrated competency.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop rapport with patients, teammates and physicians.
• Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, windows OS, and EMR usage.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows all policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, history, health maintenance review, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures and performs lab duties including venipuncture and specimen handling.
• Performs POCT and CLIA-waived tests per standing orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely per rights of administration.
• Completes tasks such as scheduling, referrals, and insurance authorizations.
• Cross-trained to support multiple clinic practices within scope.
