Job summary

Advocate Health is looking for a Medical Assistant to join the Indian Trail Family Medicine team. The role includes rooming patients, taking vital signs, collecting histories, coordinating care, and supporting providers with procedures and labs.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited MA program or equivalent. Two years of MA experience and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical training.
• Two years of clinical Medical Assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs vital signs, history, screenings, and health maintenance tasks.
• Assists provider with procedures and lab duties including venipuncture and POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Completes insurance authorizations, scheduling, and referrals.
• Maintains clean work environment and supports training of teammates.
