Job summary

Union Community Care invites applications for a Medical Assistant to support patient care under the supervision of physicians, PAs, and NPs. You will perform chart prep, rooming patients, and assist with injections, procedures, and tests, while maintaining confidentiality and coordinating with care teams.

The role requires graduating from a Medical Assistant program (or equivalent) and a current CPR certification, with English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Medical Assistant program or competency assessment and two years of on-the-job training.
• English proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts chart prep for each patient daily and participates in daily huddles with the provider.
• Greet patients, prepare exam rooms, document in the EHR per SOP.
• Administers injections and medications as prescribed by the provider.
• Prepares and assists with procedures as designated by the provider.
• Implements standing orders and performs tests like phlebotomy, EKGs, breathing treatments, vision tests.
• Collects specimens and ensures proper testing preparation.
• Participates in test tracking and communicates overdue results.
• Manages patient communications and follow-ups.
• Ensures exam rooms and instruments are cleaned and stocked after visits.
• Assists with care plan revisions and tracks patient progress between visits.
• Supports proactive outreach for preventative and chronic disease services.
• Collaborates with care coordination to ensure continuity of care across specialists and hospital visits.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and quality of care.
• Handles patient information confidentially per policies.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
