Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is hiring a Medical Assistant I to support clinicians in delivering high-quality patient care at the Northwest Clinic. The role requires rooming patients, documenting vitals, and assisting with procedures to maintain smooth clinic flow.

Responsibilities include blood draws, injections, and acting as a liaison between patients and providers. A WA-accepted MA program or CMA certification is required, with current BLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an ABHES/CAAHEP-accredited MA program or equivalent.
• WA CMA certification or interim CMA eligibility is required.
• Surgical Technologist registration in WA with active practice.
• Current BLS through AHA or equivalent with renewal every two years.
• Proficiency in email and word processing systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients and families to exam/procedure area.
• Documents vital signs and other patient information per policy.
• Assists with procedures as directed by providers.
• Performs clerical tasks, patient transport, and maintains exam room readiness.
• Recognizes symptoms and escalates to RN/provider when needed.
• Performs blood draws and injections as directed.
