UNC Health Appalachian in Boone, North Carolina, seeks a Medical Assistant I to support clinical and administrative functions in a fast-paced outpatient setting. You will assist with exams, vitals, and patient prep under supervision, maintain EHR records, schedule appointments, and educate patients on treatments and medications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association required at hire.
• RMA, AAMA, or CCMA certification required within one year of hire.
• Previous healthcare or clinical setting experience preferred.
• Strong multitasking, organization, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology and EHR systems.

Responsabilités

• Provide clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced outpatient medical office.
• Assist with exams, procedures, vital signs, and patient preparation under provider supervision.
• Maintain accurate patient records within the EHR system.
• Schedule appointments, answer patient inquiries, and support clinic operations.
• Educate patients regarding treatments, medications, and procedures.
• Maintain a professional, patient-centered environment prioritizing safety and comfort.
