Job summary

Mass General Brigham's ambulatory OBGYN clinic in Boston seeks a Medical Assistant to support healthcare teams by handling both clinical and non-clinical patient services under supervision of providers. You will take vital signs, prep exam rooms, interview patients, and document information in the medical record.

You will assist with office procedures, manage patient flow, answer phones, and support immunizations and specimen collection.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Licenses: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred; Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred.
• Experience: Direct MA experience or medical field work 0-1 year preferred.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to prioritize tasks; Accuracy; Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Show patients to examination rooms, prepare equipment for providers, interview patients for medical information, measure vital signs, and record in the medical record.
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions; organize educational materials.
• Perform general office duties (phones, dictation, insurance forms) and liaise with other departments; advocate for patients.
• Collect blood, tissue, or other specimens, log them, and prepare for testing; phlebotomy if competent.
• Maintain inventory of immunizations and check expiration dates.
• Provide immunizations as applicable; may require certification and supervision of a provider.
• Support quality initiatives (e.g., two patient identifiers, hand hygiene).
