Job summary

La Clinica de La Raza is seeking a temporary full-time Medical Assistant I/II to support a fast-paced clinic. You will prepare examination rooms, collect vital signs, record medical histories in the EHR, and assist providers during patient visits while maintaining confidentiality and quality care.

The role requires strong communication, bilingual English/Spanish abilities, and the flexibility to participate in weekend rotations. Prior MA training or certification and BLS are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• MA Training program completion or active on-the-job training with sign-off within 90 days.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certificate required with 30-day grace period to obtain.
• MA certification from an approved body preferred (AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NRCMA).
• Phlebotomy certification preferred and health clearances/immunizations required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and set up medical laboratory equipment.
• Verify purpose of visit with patient and record medical history in EHR.
• Take vital signs and prepare patients for examination.
• Administer medications and injections as directed by a provider.
• Explain procedures and treatment to patients and coordinate follow-up visits.
• Assist providers in examinations and patient flow to maximize access.
